Kaili (simplified Chinese: 凯里; traditional Chinese: 凱里; pinyin: Kǎilǐ, Hmu: Kad Linx) is a county-level city under the administration of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, in southeastern Guizhou province, China. It is the center of Miao culture, hosting more than 120 festivals every year. Kaili has a population of 478,642 in 2010 and is a major producer of rice.
It is located on Beijing East Road, Kaili City, at 107°58'38′′ east longitude, 26°35'8′′ north latitude, and the highest elevation is 760 meters. It is adjacent to the State Construction Corporation in the east, the office and dormitory area of the State Forest School in the south, the dormitory area of the State Forestry Bureau in the west, and the gate of the park in the north, which is opposite the People's Government of Qiandongnan Prefecture and Beijing East Road in the urban area. — Directions: After entering the city, you can take a taxi directly. — Price: 0人民币

From Guiyang airport, you can take a mini-van (walk to the right from the airport exit till you reach the mini-van station). However, the vans depart when filled, which may cause waits. ¥60 one way as of December 2010.
There are buses from provincial capital Guiyang, a few hours away to the West. You can also reach Kaili by going North and West from Guilin in neighboring Guangxi, by bus via Sanjiang and Congjiang.
Kaili is on a railway line connecting Kunming and Changsha. You could get a train from either of those, or from Guiyang.
From Cheng Yang take the highspeed train from Sanjiang South to Duyun.
From Duyun Highspeed train station there are public buses to the next bus terminal, waiting outside the train station.
From the bus terminal there are frequent buses to Kaili (1½ hour) ending at the train station in Kaili.
There is a public bus system in Kaili, but all signs are in Chinese. The bus number 1 connects to the train station with the bus terminal in the city centre.
Kaili City, referred to as "Kai", is a county-level city and capital under the jurisdiction of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province. It is located in the eastern part of Guizhou Province. It is located in the foothills of the Miaoling Mountains in the transition section from the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the central hills. It is on the banks of the Qingshui River. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. It belongs to the central subtropical temperate and humid climate zone. It is a typical monsoon climate with a total area. 1569.69 square kilometers. As of October 2022, the city has jurisdiction over 9 streets and 11 towns. By the end of 2022, the city's resident population was 729,100.
