Pemalang Regency is a regency (Indonesian: kabupaten) on the north coast of Central Java province in Indonesia. Its capital is the town of Pemalang. The regency is bordered by the Java Sea in the north, in the east by Pekalongan Regency, by Purbalingga Regency in the south, and by Tegal Regency in the west.
It covers an area of 1,115.30 km2, and it had a population of 1,261,353 at the 2010 Census and 1,471,489 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 1,523,622 (comprising 772,034 males and 751,588 females).
*Apem Comal, This snack is made from a mixture of rice flour, eggs, and brown sugar placed on a banana leaf. It's delicacy from Comal District of Pemalang. *Grombyang, rice with sliced buffalo meat and gravy, served in a small bowl and topped with buffalo satay. *Lontong dekem, consists of sliced lontong, yellow coconut milk sauce like curry, and sprinkled with coconut serundeng, crackers, and fried onions. Lontong dekem is usually served with satay. The lontong dekem dish is always synonymous with the chicken satay that accompanies it, namely fried satay and soupy satay. *Sate loso, a buffalo or beef satay with reddish peanut sauce served with meat soup.
