Niimi (新見市, Niimi-shi) is a city located in northwestern Okayama Prefecture, Japan. As of 28 February 2023, the city had an estimated population of 27,106 in 12626 households.and a population density of 34 persons per km2. The total area of the city is 793.29 square kilometres (306.29 sq mi)
The JR Kishin Line traveling from the east, and the JR Geibi Line from the west, stop in Niimi, and the JR Hakubi Line connects to Niimi from the north and south.
Bihoku Bus and Hankyu Bus operate highway buses from Osaka that stop in Niimi on their way to and from Miyoshi. It's the cheapest way to reach Kansai from Niimi.
