A museum that you absolutely have to visit in Athens. Full of history and great accomplishments of the ancient Greek civilization. It feels a bit unreal at times, how advanced ancient Greeks were and their amazing understanding of the universe, math and science.
My only complaint is that the museum seems to be understaffed and some sections were closed for the public. It is such a pity honestly!
None the less, it's a must visit for sure!
This was a great museum. The flow was amazing. It casually directed you through the entire museum with arrows on the ground.
The staff here is incredibly helpful and ready to answer questions to their ability. I would recommend going on your own without a guide because the group sizes were very large and seemed to take away from the amazing pieces of history.
I'd highly recommend visiting this museum and stopping by the cafe downstairs. It has a lovely atmosphere and some historical artifacts within it.
This is a museum worth visiting.
It has multiple collections and exhibits.
Lots of interesting sculptures and pieces of ancient art in various forms. Plenty of vases with Greek motifs, pieces of jewelry, coins, full recovered statues, and many other historical objects.
Highly recommend to anyone interested in ancient history and those who are curious about finding out about ancient civilizations.
Beautiful collection of art you've seen in art history textbooks. We spent about 4 hours there, but we read a lot of the signs... A little difficult travelling with a disabled companion because the elevator is located far inside and the restrooms are on a lower floor.... That said, the staff was very helpful and gracious and wheelchair was freely available. Perfect ending to our trip to Athens.
