The art pieces are very beautiful and well maintained including David of Michael Angelo. We enjoyed our guided tour and it was very informative. It was a bit crowded when we went here because it was probably summer and people were on holidays (we went in the end of June).
Note: I recommend booking in advance so you do not need to queue because I saw the queue was long during this period.
Michelangelo's David is obviously the central masterpiece, but I also recommend the unfinished statues by the same artist, displayed just before David. The creative force bursts even from those partially carved works. And many, many other beautiful things are to be found. Starting hours (8-9 in the morning) are preferable, as later on the gallery will become somewhat crowded.
Our comfortable and serene modern life has countless roots in Florence, a crucible of arts and knowledge. Viewing and understanding the past helps to leap into the future.
The main attraction is David by Michelangelo. It’s incredible! As you turn the corner and see the SCALE for the first time, the impact it has. It really is a sight to be seen in person wow.
Book in advance, wow I can’t recommend this enough. The queues are insane, book in advance or book a premium ticket to skip the queue. It’s worth every penny.
Amazing selection of art and sculpture additional to David too! The sculptures are so impressive, beautiful curation.
Michaelangelo's David is unmissable and does not disappoint, but the organization here is poor. We arrived for our pre-booked 11:45 slot with tickets and still had to wait more than half an hour to get in, which suggests they oversold tickets. Staff were not very friendly or helpful, though dealing with tourist crowds can't be a fun job. It was very crowded inside. There are some very cool unfinished sculptures and a room of busts and statues, but I would skip the religious art upstairs.
