Guayama (Spanish: [ɡwaˈʝama], locally [waˈʝama]), officially the Autonomous Municipality of Guayama (Spanish: Municipio Autónomo de Guayama), is a city and municipality on the Caribbean coast of Puerto Rico. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 36,614. It is the center of the Guayama metropolitan area with a population of 68,442 in 2020.
There are many restaurants on Guayama's Gastronomic Routes: the urban, coastal and mountain "gastronomic routes" of Guayama are dotted with a variety of restaurants.
Guayama has a scenic coastline, beaches, forests, historic buildings, and museums. Guayama has its pueblo with a historic Roman Catholic church and Spanish-style recreational plaza. Streets run perpendicular to the plaza and are dotted with quaint shops.
